Om Swastiastu,

Andrew, Swimdo’s US Director of Finance is here in Bali, and we have been working with him on important developments for our program. The efforts we are working towards will help to strengthen the foundation for Swimdo’s expansion to other part of Indonesia.

Firstly, we are looking at our curriculum, rewriting the curriculum reformatting the structure for all our instructors at our new sites. Our senior instructors are helping to contribute the tips that they’ve learned on teaching each lesson in the curriculum. With their extensive experience, they all have great ideas on how to help children learn to float and do survival back stroke effectively.

Second, we are starting our Public Image campaign here in Indonesia. Swimdo teaches around 200+ students a month, with our current capacity, it is easy for us to run out of students to teach in specific areas. Thus, moving the pool location is what we have been doing to reach more children. This is why a thoughtful Public Image campaign is important, we want to build trust from the community where we are going to teach. Trust is important to get acceptance among the community and get the approval to start offering our programs. Our PR campaign will involve a feature on local television stations and a new update to our website that is easily translated to Bahasa.

Third, we are working to build a more comprehensive daily reporting system to keep track of all of our classes. It is becoming increasingly busy with our current classes in different locations as we expand our program offerings. Thus, we want to make it easy for all of our teachers sending updates about students’ number, classes and events in each location.

Lastly, we are currently working to get permits for our new location in the Badung regency of Bali. Badung is the second largest regency in Bali and as such, they have a high number of students and several pools we can use to teach in.

With about 200 students graduating monthly, we are very excited with how far we have come over the last few years. But our successful programs would never be possible without your support and donations.

Everyday our dreams keep getting bigger, from teaching water safety to a few children in Keramas to the entire villages on new islands. With your support, we are dreaming to reach more children throughout Indonesia, especially the high risk communities along the coastal and river areas.

Thank you for your continued support!
