Check out our volunteer opportunities! We offer on-site opportunities throughout the year so if you’re thinking about working with us to help teach children survival swimming and water safety in beautiful Bali, fill out our volunteer contact form and we will get back to you shortly.

How It Works

Volunteering with Swimdo is an opportunity to make a lasting impact and help save lives through swim education. Once you fill out our volunteer application, we’ll be in touch to discuss your eligibility and next steps.

If you don’t have the time to help on site in Indonesia, you can help in many different ways whether that be through hosting a local fundraiser, bake sale or swim-a-thon.

“Volunteering with Swimdo was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Not only did I get to immerse myself in Balinese culture, I also got to spend my time working towards something I truly believe in.”

– Dylan, Volunteer ’19

Fundraising

As a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of our donors to help fund our programs throughout Indonesia. Fundraisers are a fun way to help raise money and awareness for our programs without committing to time in Bali. In the past, volunteers have helped to organize all kinds of events. Here are just a few:

  • Hosting a house party fundraiser
  • Working with local businesses and venues to host fundraising events
  • Swim-a-thons with local schools and master swimmer programs

Next Steps

Participation is open to the communities we currently serve. Anyone who’s interested in volunteering can submit a contact form to get started. Our team will review your information and reach out about how you can get started.

What Our Past Volunteers Are Saying

“What an incredible journey! Our time in Bali, volunteering teaching survival and water safety for this amazing charity, Swimdo was an experience and a half! A team of four of us set out from the UK in August and loved everything about Bali including the most amazing people ever! Having the opportunity to teach this lifesaving skill to children who don’t have the privilege, was a honor. The children we taught, had the most amazing personalities and interacted with us in such a special way! Agis, who looked after us, made our experience relaxed and enjoyable and was always nearby if we ever needed anything. We will never forget the children we taught, the experience was precious . We will be back!”

– Vicky, Volunteer 2023

“Hi I’m Ruby, I came out on the volunteer program to help Swimdo and all there volunteers teach school children to learn survival skills in case they ever got into trouble whilst playing around water. What an experience it was! It was an amazing thing to be apart of as well as doing it alongside 3 of my colleagues. We came out as a group of 4 from our swim school back in England, and what I can say is it made us see a completely different world out there and the way swimming is taught compared to back here in England. We are happy to say that we will continue to support and volunteer with Swimdo over the next few years sending out multiple of the staff for next years program. I will definitely be returning to volunteer next year too! Every part of the program was my favorite there isn’t any way I could pick a favorite memory. The whole time we was just laughing and having a blast. To you (Agis) just made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable taking us to all the best places on our down time being able to explore Bali at the same time too. Thank you for making us feel welcome into your home country it was a trip to remember!”
